Absalom in good form

TWENTY players competed for a privilege pot at the Cobden Golf Club last Saturday.


D. Absalom was the winner of A grade with 31 points, on countback from A. Giles also on 31.

B grade went to G. Davis on 31, with N. Kemp 31 on countback.

Nearest the pins: 4th J. Walker, 7th B. Welsby, closest second on the 14th D. Absolom.

The privilege pot was won by D. Absalom.

Balls down the line went to S. Dawson, C. Dobson and J. Walker.

This Saturday will be monthly medal (stroke), presidents’ team v captains’ team.

The Wednesday competitions at Cobden Golf Club continue to attract good results.

Eleven players competed on September 24, with Judy Myers winning on 48 nett followed by Carmel Darcy on 50 nett.

Nearest the pin on the 4th was Carmel Darcy in A grade and Di Bennett (who was a guest player on the day) won C grade.

Carmel also achieved the longest putt and was closest on the 7th.

Balls down the line went to Netty Hose with 51 nett.

No play was possible on November 1 due to heavy rain on the course prior to the day, followed by intermittent showers.

On October 8, 12 players participated in the monthly medal competition, playing stableford.

The winner was Ellen Darcy on 34 points, with Neil Simmonds the runner-up on 41.

Nearest the pins: 4th Ellen Darcy (A grade) and Jeannine White (B grade), 7th Judy Myers (with a 20 metre blind gobbler birdie), second shot on 8th was Ellen Darcy.

Balls down the line went to Jo Hintum with 29 points.
