COBDEN’S women’s cricket side had a seven wicket loss to Allansford-Panmure in Sunday’s game at Allansford.

The Knights batted first in the round seven match of the Warrnambool Moyne District Cricket Association and were all out for 73 in the 23rd over.

Top scorers were Abbie Hanks with 13, Anna Dickson with 12 and Ingrid Bellman with 11.

The Gators passed Cobden’s score in the 18th over for the loss of three wickets.

Abbie Hanks took the new ball and took all three wickets, finishing with 3/14 from five overs.

This Sunday Cobden will host Koroit at Cobden.

In the south west women’s competition, Cobden’s two teams lined up against each other in the Cobden derby at the local reserve.

Cobden Blue batted first and made 5/102 from its 20 overs.

Jess Walsh top scored with 30 retired from 34 balls, Anna Dickson made 17 from 31 and Leah Dickson 16 from 27.

Akeisha Bishop was Gold’s best bowler with 2/12 from two overs.

In reply, Gold were all out in the 16th over for 81.

Taliyah Bishop was the only player to make double figures with 24 from 37 balls.

Jess Walsh led the Blue bowlers with 3/8 from two, with Sally Merrett and Anna Dickson taking two wickets each.

In tonight’s games, Cobden Blue will host Bookaar at Cobden, while Cobden Gold play Nirranda at South Purrumbete.
