Beasley claims new course record
TALENTED local golfer Fred Beasley recently shot a new Terang Golf Club course record.
Beasley recorded a bogey-free six under (66) in the opening round of the club championships late last month.
The final results of the men’s club championships saw Beasley finish on 289 to take out the A grade overall title (five handicap and below), followed by Josh Brown on 297.
Fred Beasley also won the A grade handicap on 293, followed by Josh Brown on 301.
B grade overall (6-15 handicap) was won by Nigel Bruckner on 324, followed by Liam Venn on 330.
The B grade handicap was won by Nigel Bruckner (six handicap) on 300, with Liam Venn (seven) the runner-up on 302.
The C grade overall (16-23 handicap) was won by Ryle Hutchins on 364, with Jeremy Attrill the runner-up on 365.
C grade handicap was won by Peter Hrabar (22) 299, with Ryley Hutchins (16) runner-up on 300.
D grade overall (24 plus stableford) went to Pat Bourke on 128 points (won in a playoff on the first extra hole) from runner-up Alex Kenna also on 128 points.
The John Petrusch Trophy (overall 72 handicap) Club Champion was Fred Beasley (+1) 293 from runner-up Peter Hrabar (22) 299.

D grade (24 plus stableford) winner Pat Bourke (35) 37 points from runner-up Alex Kenna (31) 36.

Friday’s nine hole twilight was won by Paddy Scanlon on 18 points from runner-up Lynette Coxon on 17.
