Busy spring for TOPS
TIMBOON Opportunity Shop (TOPS) have been active in the community, continually returning financial help to community organisations.

TOPS coordinator Brenda Parfett said TOPS is thriving as a business.
“We are able to help the community as people bring goods for us to sell – many people are devoted to gathering up saleable goods,” she said.
“A couple from Simpson and family members help us so much this way with many goods in brand new condition.
“Our latest financial assistance was to the Timboon Netball Club for new uniforms and we were glad we could help them out.
“We have a talented group of volunteers that are now showing our goods in our front window, each week a different theme – we had a football theme, a Father’s Day theme, now it’s Halloween.
“Molly our model has also been decked out in football season outfits – now its creepy spiders and black outfits – but changes regularly.”
Mrs Parfett said TOPS has now been able to use the scout hall to sell furniture, which has been a real asset to the op shop.
“It was a building that was not used in town so Scouting Victoria was agreeable for TOPS to sell our furniture from there,” she said.
“This huge space has been a real asset to our shop with our furniture donations as there was no room in our shed at the shop, so we are glad to make use of the scout hall.
“We are very fortunate to have over thirty volunteers and another two have recently started at TOPS.
“The volunteers are the lifeblood of the shop – they all have different skills and put them to good use at TOPS.”
Mrs Parfett said with recycling at the heart of TOPS, she was proud to be a part of the organization.
“I believe we are the best recycling organisation for the town of Timboon and district,” she said.
“With goods coming to us to be sorted and prepared for sale, I am sure much is saved from landfill.
“We are all proud to be a part of Timboon’s op shop.”
