Camperdown lights up tonight

RESIDENTS are being reminded the Light Up Camperdown festival will be held tonight (Friday, December 5).


Festivities will begin at 4.30pm with a number of musicians from across the shire busking on the outdoor stage from 4.25pm.

A free movie will also be screened during the festival, with The Polar Express running at the Theatre Royal from 4.30pm.

Camperdown’s Community Choir will also be performing on the outdoor stage from 5.40pm, with Tuniversal filling the avenue with music from 7.45pm.

Interactive activities include a Glow Circus Workshop with Rich Royale from 5pm at the Old Stadium, Santa photos at Benallack’s Sports, face painting from 6pm and Manifold Street businesses to remain open until 8.30pm for those seeking to do some last-minute Christmas shopping.

WildHoney’s Green Woman stilt walking and Rich Royale’s roving LED display will also feature in the avenue over the course of the evening.

The Camperdown Lions Club will be firing up the barbecue for those enjoying the festivities from 5pm, with a special Christmas bonanza show from Bethany Fisher starting at 6.30pm.

Other highlights will include light displays in the avenue, a picnic in the avenue, an opportunity for youth to show off their new glow circus skills at around 8.45pm, and the return of the lantern parade.
