Cats fall short
CHASING 208 to win on day two of the round 13 Warrnambool Moyne and District Cricket Association match at Dennington, Mortlake could only manage 97 all out in just 37.3 overs.

Saman Gonawala dominated the innings with 55 from 69 balls, hitting six boundaries.
Adam Atwood and William Kain were the only other batsmen to make double figures, with 12 and 10 respectively.
Dennington had 39 overs to bat out, finishing at stumps on 6/160.
Clinton Baker did the bulk of the damage, taking 5/22 from seven overs; his third five wicket haul for the season at premier level.
Mortlake has finished the home and away season in sixth position and this Saturday and Sunday will play third placed Russells Creek in the first week of the finals at Jetty Flat Reserve.
In the championship division match at the DC Farran Oval, Mortlake had a 55 run first innings loss to Koroit.
Koroit resumed on day two on 1/62 chasing Mortlake’s 152, and ended up making 207 all out.
Arlo Herry, Elijah Bradbury and Jason Lehmann took two wickets each for Mortlake.
The home team had a second innings, finishing on 4/38 from 18 overs, with opener Taj Podger top scoring with 22 from 57 balls.
In Saturday’s final home and away round, the championship Cats play a one day game against Hawkesdale at Hawkesdale.
In division three, Mortlake had a two wicket win over Nirranda at Mortlake College Oval.
Nirranda batted first and were bowled out for 156 in 39.1 overs.
Captain Will Ruddle took 5/35 from nine, with veteran left armer Neil Kelly taking 3/17 from seven.
Kelly guided Mortlake over the line with an unbeaten 39 from 29 balls as the home team passed the scored in the 32nd over for the loss of eight wickets.
Earlier Jack Clifford made 66 from 41 balls, hitting eight fours and three sixes, with Corey Rounds scoring 30 from 40 balls.
The season is over for the division three Cats, finishing in seventh position on the ladder.
