Celebrating mothers
STUDENTS at Camperdown College’s junior campus and St Patrick’s Primary School hosted special guests last week to celebrate Mother’s Day.
While Mother’s Day was on Sunday, May 10, students marked the occasion early with special events.
Camperdown College principal Vicki Angus said the school celebrated mothers, aunts, grandmothers and special friends through their annual breakfast.
“Our mothers and special people were treated to a delicious breakfast on Friday, May 8 in celebration of the significant role they play and just how much they mean to us,” she said.
“Prepared and cooked by our wonderful Parents and Friends Association, over 300 guests enjoyed a wide array of breakfast delights.
“Following the breakfast, Prep-Year Six students delighted in the opportunity to browse a wide selection of gifts kindly donated by families and businesses.
“Choosing the perfect present for their mum or special person proved to be a very exciting but serious exercise.”
St Patrick’s Primary School students hosted their breakfast last Wednesday, with a strong crowd of families filling the school’s big room for the occasion.
“Mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters and significant people in our students’ lives joined for breakfast, coffee, catch-ups and cuddles,” teacher Paula Atkins said.
“The egg and bacon rolls, freshly prepared by our volunteer dads, were a hit, while the Mercy Regional College coffee van kept those caffeine needs in check.
“Students were then able to select a gift from our stall to hide away until Sunday.
“We hope that all the women who have a positive impact in our students’ lives felt appreciated and loved over the weekend.”
