Clean sweep for junior Bulls
POMBORNEIT’S under 16 cricketers have dominated the South West Association competition in season 2025-26.

The Bulls last weekend defeated Cobden to take home the premiership flag.
Played in Camperdown last Sunday, the under 16 grand final gave both sides the opportunity to show their talents.
Having won the toss and elected to bat first, Pomborneit put on an impressive 8/155 from 35 overs, with Jonty Raven finishing on an unbeaten 48 which included six boundaries.
He was well supported by opener Josh Reynolds who made 42 from 64 deliveries in an innings that included four boundaries.
Knights’ bowlers Michael Benallack (2/15 from five), Jack Couch (2/15 from four), Max Slater 1/19 and captain Eamon Sloane (2/29) were all impressive with the ball.
In reply, the Knights were restricted to 10/110 in the 35th over.
Best with the bat for the Knights were Michael Benallack (31) and Max Slater (17).
Pomborneit’s Max Rees led his side’s wicket takers with 3/8 from 5.3 overs.
The young Bulls also dominated in the league junior awards, with Pomborneit’s Josh Reynolds taking out the most runs with an impressive 306, while fellow team-member Max Rees held the most wickets for the season with 12.
Cricketer of the Year went to Max Rees on 497 points, just one point ahead of Josh (Reynolds).
