Cobden Garden Club celebrates Christmas
MEMBERS of the Cobden Garden Club gathered at Lake Edge Café last week to celebrate Christmas together.

Garden club president Kerrie Smith said it was great to get together to celebrate and spend time with friends.
“We have a Christmas gathering so the members come together and we do a plant swap so everyone goes home with a plant,” she said.
“We went to visit the gerbera farm – Weerite Flower Farm – so we’ve seen how the gerberas grow and learned about them.
“Each month during daylight savings we visit a garden and sometimes we just have a cup of tea or in the winter time we find other things to do inside.
“They’re a very senior, enthusiastic group of people – we have maybe 50 members, not everyone comes each time, and we get together the first Tuesday of every month.
“Sometimes we view member’s gardens and other times we’ll find other people’s gardens or we might go to the botanical gardens.
“We always do something different but always garden related.”
