IT is hoped new road signage and hi-vis vests will be a visual reminder to motorists to be mindful of cyclists on Camperdown roads.

Thanks to a ‘Ready Now’ grant from Corangamite Shire, the Camperdown Cycling Club has recently purchased 10 new road signs, which will be placed at various locations around the club’s permitted road circuit for junior and senior racing.

The races are mainly held from 5pm to 8pm each Thursday.

The $500 grant also allowed the club to purchase several new hi-vis vests for its senior riders to wear while riding and mentoring the club’s junior riders during their race.

It is hoped both the signs and the vests will be a visual reminder for local motorists as they make their way around roads in the vicinity of the former Camperdown saleyards, the racecourse and the town of Chocolyn.
