Drugged driver caught
POLICE are reminding drivers to reconsider driving when under the influence of drugs and alcohol after a 39-year-old Melbourne man was intercepted in Port Campbell.
Corangamite Senior Sergeant Bill Caldow said the man was intercepted by Port Campbell police at 1am on Sunday, October 5 in Ward Street.
“He was given a roadside drug test, which gave a positive result,” he said.
“He was taken to Port Campbell Police Station and processed, which again proved positive to be driving on drugs.
“He will be issued with a six-month licence suspension.”
Drug driving can carry significant fines, licence suspension and a possibility of a conviction being recorded.
