Dry end to summer

SUMMER wrapped up a dry end to the season as minimal rainfall was recorded throughout February.

Only 23mm of rain was recorded over Cobden in February, far short of the 39.4mm long-term average recorded over the same period.

The heaviest rainfall was recorded on February 12 at 9mm, tallying almost half the total rainfall recorded over the entire month.

Only five other days saw rain throughout the month, with most recording less than 5mm of rain over a 24-hour period.

This brings the total recorded rainfall over Cobden to date to only 26.2mm after just 3.2mm was tallied last month.

This month does improve on last year’s February, however, as February 2025 only recorded 16.6mm of rain over Cobden.
