Grant applications open for volunteers
MEMBER for Wannon Dan Tehan has encouraged community organisations across the electorate to apply for funding under the 2025–26 Volunteer Grants Program.
Mr Tehan said the program would provide volunteers with the resources such as equipment and training to support them in their efforts to enhance the community.
“The Volunteer Grants Program was established by the Coalition Government and reflects our ongoing commitment to strengthening volunteering in local communities,” he said.
“Across Wannon, these grants have helped organisations upgrade essential equipment, deliver important projects, undertake training and support initiatives that promote and grow volunteering.
“Many of these projects simply would not have been possible without this support.”
Mr Tehan said volunteers were the backbone of local communities, playing a vital role in social, educational, sporting, cultural and environmental organisations.
“Volunteers give their time generously to keep our communities connected and thriving,” he said.
“This program is about backing them and ensuring they have the resources they need.”
Grants of between $1000 and $5000 are available to assist eligible community organisations in supporting the valuable work of their volunteers.
Expressions of interest close at 5pm on Monday, March 30.
