The guide hall was filled with festive cheer with two festive-themed scenes and an array of festive props for families to pose with over the course of the day.

Guide leader Glenda McIlveen said the fundraiser went well.

“Thank you to everyone for all the community support,” she said.

“It was a fundraiser we though hadn’t been for a while in Camperdown, so we thought we’d give it a go.

“It was certainly busy enough.

“There were a lot of last-minute bookings, but we were very happy with the amount of bookings we got.

“We only allocated one day to do it, so we didn’t think we’d get that many.”

Photographer Jess Dickson donated her time for the photography session, taking photos of families with young children, individuals and even pets.

Ms Dickson said she enjoyed the opportunity to support the Girl Guides.

“It’s amazing,” she said.

“It’s good to give back to the community.

“My kids are all going to school, and my daughter might be at girl guides one day, so it’s nice to help them out.”

Among the families who booked in to get their festive photos was Michelle Marks, who said the ability to access local sessions made things “local, easy and quick”.

“We’ll definitely come back next year,” she said.

“It was really good.

“We didn’t have to battle through a shopping centre – no line-up or anything.”

Mrs McIlveen said the Christmas photo session was the last fundraiser of the year.

“We met our goals for the year with what we needed to fundraise for the guide hall’s ongoing expenses,” she said.

“Thank you to all the community who came to have their photos taken.”

Girl Guides is now finished for the year, with the guide hall still available for hire for end-of-year events.
