Heytesbury Show draws a crowd
THE Heytesbury Agricultural Show kicked off with another successful year as crowds flocked from across the region to participate in the day’s events.

There were plenty of trade stands and a host of entertainment across the board for families to enjoy, from Wildlife Xposure reptile encounters to a petting zoo with puppies and miniature goats.
There were also fun events such as a fancy dress on horseback, which included entries dressed as Barbie, a unicorn and cowboys.
Bluey and Bingo even made an appearance, stopping for photo opportunities throughout the day.
Heytesbury Agricultural Show secretary Sue Stevens said the day drew a good crowd with plenty of entertainment for all ages.
“The mystery showbag was a big hit as always and sold out quickly,” she said.
“Everyone enjoyed all the things they got from all the stands so I’d like to thank all the stands which participated and donated goods for the mystery buckets.
“It was good to see entries in the homecraft pavilion – lots of cooking and a reasonable number of flowers considering we probably had a tough summer to try and grow any flowers.

“There were lots of trade stands so that was good.”
Mrs Stevens said the cattle show was a hit, especially with the focus on guernseys.
“The cattle show went well and the people from overseas who were there with the guernseys world tour were impressed with the cattle, not just the guernseys but all cattle,” she said.
“The horse events were well supported, this year we actually capped the numbers just so it didn’t go forever and ever like it did last year and all the classes were full.
“The sheep probably had more entries than in the past so I think everything was well supported.
“Everyone all around had a good day.”
