Lakers back in action tomorrow
CAMPERDOWN had the bye in round nine of the Colac-South West premier division cricket, and will return to action tomorrow when they host Apollo Bay at SA Wright Oval.
No play was possible in the Lakers division three match against Ecklin at Camperdown number two.
This week the division three Lakers play Heytesbury-Princetown at Camperdown number two.
In the under 13 boys’ game on Monday night, Camperdown had a loss to Bookaar.
Batting first, the junior Lakers made 8/74 from their 20 overs.
Patrick Greig top scored with 15 retired, with C.Cronly making 12 retired.
Bookaar replied with 6/144, with Daisy Courtney taking two wickets and Bella Howard one, which was her first wicket for the club.
This Monday the junior Lakers play Ecklin at Camperdown number two in their final game before the Christmas break.
In the women’s game on Wednesday night, Camperdown had a narrow win over Nirranda on the Port Campbell turf wicket.
The home team batted first and a strong Lakers bowling performance saw Nirranda dismissed in the 15th over for 45.
Maddison Fisher led the way with 2/8 from three overs, with Ella Riches, Grace Fleming, and Melissa Pascoe taking a wicket each.
In reply, Camperdown passed Nirranda’s score six wickets down, eventually all out for 51 in the 15th over.
Brooke Herbertson was the star with the bat, making 25 as the only Laker to make double figures in the run chase.
The Lakers women now break for the holidays before returning in late January.
