Margie Driscoll wins stableford

RAIN, wind and sunshine made for tough conditions for Terang golfers last Thursday.


Thirty-one players battled the conditions, with Margie Driscoll winning the stableford with 37 points, followed by Elaine Hrabar on 36.

Balls down the line went to Jo Arundell 34 points, while nearest the pins were Margie Driscoll (3rd and 6th), Judy Carmody (11th) and Elaine Hrabar (18th from off the green).

The winner of the 18 hole, all day stableford was Jason Karney on 39 points, followed by Colin Venn on 34.

Balls down the line went to Fred Beasley 33 and Gary Marr 33.

Nearest the pins: 3rd David Stewart and 6th Ulbe Twynstra.

The winner of the all day, nine hole event was Frank O’Connor with 17 points.

Last Saturday saw 39 players compete in a stableford competition.

A grade was won by Neale Grundy (12) on 38 points, followed by Phil Beasley (scratch) on 37.

B grade was won by Stephen Vaughan (21) 37 from Chris Coolahan (17) 36.

Down the line: Martin Wynd (13) 36, Nick Kenna (10) 36, Stephen O’Keefe (23) 35, Marion Venn (17) 35 and Jake Lee (32) 34.

Nearest the pins: 3rd Steven Clifford, 6th Kerry Clarke, 8th Stephen Vaughan and 11th Ryley Hutchins.

Friday’s twilight golf was won by Fred Beasley (19 points on countback) from Nick Marshall, also on 19.

This Friday will be twilight nine-hole from 2.30pm onwards (composite course holes 1, 9, 15, 16, 17, 18, 10, 11 and 7).

Saturday will be stroke monthly medal and putting for December.

Sunday will be the Rotary Club of Terang fundraising golf day.

A reminder the Frank Crimmins 4BBB (pairs event) will be held on Saturday, December 13 – 10am for a 10.30am shotgun start.
