Modular homes drop in Camperdown
RESIDENTS may have spotted a crane in Camperdown’s skyline this week, with big things happening on Lawrence Street.

A 120-tonne crane has been lifting fully-built modular homes into the lot at 48 Lawrence Street this week, with more to arrive in the coming weeks.
The lift marks a major milestone for Treehab’s newest development – a thoughtfully designed collection of four modular homes created for smaller, low-maintenance living, developed in conjunction with builder W Homes.
Treehab Group owner and founder Riley Skene said the company has built a strong reputation across Australia for quality tiny homes and modular dwellings which prioritise smart design, sustainability and long-term durability.
“What began as a focus on high-end tiny homes has grown into a broader vision – delivering compact, beautifully crafted homes that suit modern Australian lifestyles,” he said.
“These homes are designed for people who want to simplify without compromising on comfort or quality.
“We’re seeing growing demand from independent retirees and downsizers who want a manageable home which still feels spacious, warm and thoughtfully finished.”
The modular sections have been constructed off-site in Treehab’s Williamstown North warehouse.
Once complete, the modules were transported to Camperdown and craned into place, where final finishing works will be completed on site.
“The development offers a practical housing option for locals seeking to downsize, reduce upkeep or move into a modern, energy-efficient home without the footprint of a traditional build,” Mr Skene said.
“Each dwelling has been carefully designed to maximise space, natural light and liveability, with a focus on durability and low ongoing maintenance.
“The crane lift has drawn interest from locals, as the large-scale operation carefully positions each module onto its prepared foundations – a process that highlights the efficiency and innovation behind modular construction.
“Treehab continues to expand its presence in regional Victoria, bringing high-quality modular housing solutions to communities seeking diverse and adaptable living options.”
