Road resealing program set to begin
THE first jobs are being ticked off Corangamite Shire Council’s 2025-2026 road construction list.

Corangamite Shire Council manager works Lyall Bond said the 2025-2026 capital works program includes 19 road rehabilitations or upgrades.
Rehabilitation works include the Noogee Road widening, west of Terang, and further works on the Sisters Noorat Road.
There will also be a final seal on works including Dow Street south in Terang.
The works will include a final seal of 11 major roads across Corangamite Shire, in addition to eight roads under the rehabilitation program.
The works total 12.09 kilometres and are worth $3.3 million.
“We’re ramping up and hoping for good weather,” Mr Bond said.
“This much-needed rain is great for farmers but not necessarily for road construction.
“We’ve managed to seal one road already, which was last Monday (November 24), which crews completed works on Gnarpurt Road at the intersection with Lower Darlington Road.
“We’re well on track with Darlington Terang Road and expect that to be completed next week.
“The next batch of works will be after Christmas.”
Mr Bond said there were also a range of culverts and pipe upgrades which council would be undertaking.
He warned motorists there would be some road closures happening.
“Please be mindful of that as you’re travelling around the shire,” Mr Bond said.
“Keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates so you can plan accordingly.
“Please observe signs and traffic management and drive to the conditions.
“We thank the community for their patience as we carry out the program to keep on top of our assets.”
Other major works include gravel resheeting and resealing programs across the shire.
