Semi-final for women
POMBORNEIT Gold are through to the semi-final of the Colac District Cricket Association’s women’s competition after having their qualifying final washed out on Sunday.
Batting first against Simpson at Pomborneit, Gold had made 4/128 from 17.3 overs before the rain hit.
Sam Coxon (32), Nellie Sadler (31) and Jess Moulden (30) all reached the 30 run retirement mark.
No further play was possible.
In this Sunday’s semi-final at Pomborneit, Gold will play Carlisle River for a spot in the grand final.
In the under 17 girls, Pomborneit had a five wicket win over Irrewarra Red at Pomborneit.
Batting first, Red made 3/118 from their 20 overs.
Pomborneit replied with 5/128, Isla Spokes top scoring with 33 retired, Lilli Saarikallio made 26 and Isabelle Pilley 20.
In tonight’s semi-final, Pomborneit’s under 17 girls will play Tomahawk Creek at Colac’s Western Reserve.
