Simpson match abandoned
SIMPSON’S division one premier match against Camperdown at SA Wright Oval on Saturday was abandoned without a ball bowled.
This week Simpson will host Stoneyford in round eight of the competition at the Simpson Recreation Reserve.
The division two Tigers got a full game in, losing to Birregurra by 73 runs at Birregurra.
The home team, batting first, were all out for 165 in the 40th over.
Hunter Reynolds led the Simpson bowling with 3/28 from eight overs, with Bodhi Crole taking two wickets.
In reply Simpson was dismissed in the 26th over for just 92, opener Joe Cain top scoring with 19.
This week the division two Tigers play Deans Marsh at Deans Marsh.
In division three, Simpson had a seven wicket loss to City United at Simpson.
Batting first, the Tigers made 6/139, with S. Carter top scoring with 37 and Adrian Fratantaro retiring on 36 from 96 balls.
City United replied with 3/156, Noah Deppler taking all three wickets.
This week the division three Tigers play Forrest at Forrest.
In the under 14 match at Simpson on Friday night, Simpson had a 124 run loss to Irrewarra Black.
The visitors batted first, making 4/186 from their 30 overs.
Harry Vogels, Archer Crole and Olinto Ferrari all took a wicket each.
In reply Simpson was all out for 62 in the 20th over, Fin Mahoney and Jack Vogels both making 10 each.
This Friday the under 14 Tigers play Irrewarra Red at Colac Secondary College Oval.
Simpson’s scheduled women’s game did not go ahead as all matches in the Colac District CA women’s competition were abandoned early.
This Sunday the Simpson women host West Warrion at Simpson.
