Special road trip for vintage fans
REUSERS, upcyclers and lovers of all things retro are invited to travel back in time on a road trip around Corangamite Shire.
Corangamite Shire Council mayor councillor Kate Makin said council was excited to invite residents to the official launch of a vintage road trip around the shire.
“Council has designed a map to guide serious collectors and casual treasure hunters alike around Corangamite’s op-shops, collectables, bric-a-brac, antiques and second-hand shops,” she said.
“The self-guided tour itinerary is hosted on council’s The Place to Grow promotional website.
“There are 21 businesses so far and new destinations can easily be added.
“We want to make sure people know about the hidden gems in the shire and visit all of our towns as they look for a great find.”
The vintage road trip will be launched with coffee and breakfast bites at the Pombo Mart (2846 Princes Highway, Pomborneit) on Thursday, October 30 from 8-9.30am.
“There are an increasing number of day-trippers coming to the shire from the bigger cities,” Cr Makin said.
“The event is free, but please register for catering purposes.
“Come along to the big yellow shed on the highway and have a coffee, light catering, conversation and a browse around.
“You can also sign up for shopping bus trips which we are organising in co-operation with Camperdown Community House.”
