Temby takes Jim Lock Tribute race
THE 2025/26 race season got underway at Simpson Speedway last weekend.

The return of cars to the clay on Saturday night brought an air of excitement to teams and spectators, with the action-packed program including Wingless Sprints, Super Sedans and Super Rods.
The evening featured the Jim Lock Tribute Race which proved a fitting tribute to a man who contributed so much to his beloved club.
Race honours went to Chris Temby, with Travis Millar in second and Angus Hollis third.
Special mention to Luke Weel who took the challenge and started at the rear of the field.
Weel showed remarkable skill and courage, making his way through the field to cross the line in fifth.
The A-Main of the Super Rods proved a great spectacle, with Jamie May taking the chequered flag ahead of Stan Marco Junior and Michael Coad.
In the Super Sedans, Lucas Roberts led the field across the finish line, with TravRamsdale and Jamie Collins completing the podium.
Action will return to the Simpson track on Saturday, December 27 with the running of the Formula 500 ‘Speedweek’ and 410 Sprintcars.
