Timboon Action picking up speed
AFTER a successful annual general meeting, Timboon Action is heading into the 2025-2026 year with a refreshed committee and commitment to the Timboon community.

The meeting was held on October 7, with Enid O’Connor sworn in as president again, alongside vice president Chris Harkness, secretary Leeanne Whitehead, treasurer Russell White and executive members Kel Ord and Kylie Oates.
Mrs Whitehead said the group was on track to host another great year of activities.
“So far, we’ve had two markets and the next market will be on Sunday, November 9 and then Sunday, December 14,” she said.
“Face painting is free to children at the markets as a way of Timboon Action supporting families so every child can have their faces painted at no cost.
“We’ve got Family Christmas on the Green on Friday, December 12 from 4-6pm.
“Timboon Action will be supplying all the free activities for children on that night so there will be things like Christmas-themed plaster painting, sand art, badges and balloons.”
Mrs Whitehead said a range of food would be available at the Christmas event.
“We’ll have fairy floss, popcorn and snow cones,” she said.
“There’ll be coffee, donuts and Timboon Action will be cooking up a barbecue.
“Santa will come as well.
“We’ve got some street decorations that will be going up – Christmas trees that have been made by the Timboon Men’s Shed and we will be calling on volunteers to help paint them.
“We had 20 last year and Kel Ord from K and K Party Hire painted them red, green and white so we got another 20 coming for that.”
Looking ahead to the future, Mrs Whitehead said there was plenty to look forward to and the new committee were on board for the times ahead.
“We’ve got a new committee and we’re ready to go again for another season,” she said.
“We’ve still got markets to go for next year and we’ve got Easter upcoming after Christmas too.
“We’re looking forward to a new 2025-2026 year and Timboon Action are still here.”
