Young Lions demolish United
THE Corangamite Lions under 12s were in ruthless form at Camperdown Showgrounds on the weekend.
The young side dismantled Ballarat North United SC White 8-0 in a dominant display from first whistle to last.
The Lions wasted no time making their intentions clear, finding the net within minutes of kick-off and never letting up.
From that opening goal, the team controlled the game, giving their opponents little opportunity to settle or threaten at the other end.
Hamish Messer was again a solid performer, adding five more goals to what is becoming an extraordinary season’s tally.
Ruaraidh Menzies chipped in with two, while Jay Finlayson rounded out the scoring with one of his own.
The Lions remain fourth on the ladder and are building genuine momentum heading into the back half of the season.
With each week bringing another polished performance, this young side is growing in confidence and cohesion, and are fast establishing themselves as genuine contenders.
The Lions will look to keep the run going this Sunday when they host Bacchus Marsh SC Yellow at Camperdown Showgrounds.
